In printing, “bleed” is the area that will be trimmed off in the printing process. We understand that your design is precious so we work to keep the area that must be trimmed away very small. It’s usually between 1/16th and 1/8th of an inch.
Our software will show you the approximate trim line. When working on your book or album, please click on “Show Bleed Lines” across the top.
Turning this function on, will allow you to see what areas of the design will be trimmed off in the printing process.
Please note that if you would like your images to print fully on the page, without borders, the images must extend past the bleed lines. However, it’s important to understand that everything past the red dotted lines will be trimmed off during the printing process. Please do not put important design elements (such as text, logos or the tops of people’s heads) in the areas past these red dots as they will be cut off.
