Both the Layflat Photo Books and the Flush Mount Albums feature our high-quality photographic prints and cover customization options like UV printing, Debossing, Laser Engraving, Raised Varnish and Raised Foil. However, there are a few notable differences:
Minimum and Maximum Number of Pages: Because the pages are thinner, a Layflat Photo Book can accommodate 20-100 pages. A Flush Mount Album can be printed with between 16-50 pages at most sizes.
Paper Surface: A Layflat Photo Book is only available in the Lustre paper surface (which is a semi-gloss). You can order the Flush Mount Album in a Glossy, Lustre, Matte, Velvet, Silk or Metallic paper surface.
Available Sizes:
A Layflat Photo Book comes in the following sizes and orientations:
Square: 6x6, 8x8, 10x10, 12x12
Landscape: 6x8, 8x11, 11x14
Portrait: 8x6, 11x8, 14x11
A Flush Mount Album comes in the following sizes and orientations:
Square: 6x6, 8x8, 10x10, 12x12, 14x14
Landscape: 6x8, 8x11, 11x14, 12x16
Portrait: 8x6, 11x8, 14x11, 16x12
Page Thickness: Both book types have rigid pages. However, the Layflat Photo Book pages are 0.8mm thick. The Flush Mount Album "Standard" pages are 1.1mm thick while the “Thick” pages are 1.5mm.
Gilding is only available in our Flush Mount Albums.
Cover Types: You can order more cover types in the Flush Mount Albums, such as the Crystal and Acrylic Covers, which are not available in Layflat Photo Books. We offer Genuine Leather, Hard Covers, Paper Covers, Linen, Velvet and Suede, Silk, Leatherette and Photo covers in both products.
Overall, the Layflat Photo Book offers a lighter, more affordable option compared to the Flush Mount Album.
